Homosexual families and parenting?

I have to make a reference guide on films on Homosexual families and parenting, and I don't really know where to start. I've been racking my brain, and I can't seem to come up with any movies dealing with this subject, and preferrably mainstream. Any advice?

"The L Word" seasons 3 & 4 would be helpful, I think. It is a Showtime series.
