My kitty Chloe has started this loud ugly crying, she is about 5-6 months old. It is so annoying! Do you think its time to be fixed? Why does she cry so loud?

At the moment I'm living with my mother due to ilness, and I was talking to a romantic interest onine for about a week. Mom walked in one day while I was opening an e-mail containing some explicit pics of this person, and IMMEDIATELY formed her opinion based on that. I really cared about this person, still do, and were supposed to meet yesterday. Didn't happen; I think Mom's opinion discouraged her from meeting me as we planned, and I have recieved no e-mails or messages from her since. I'm devastated!
This could have been a good thing, and I feel like my mother being so meddlesome COMPLETELY screwed things up--any advice here?

You may think that those sexy sitcoms or violent dramas are just entertainment and shouldn't really have serious effects. For any single show that's probably correct, but for too many people, we're not talking about a single show every so often, and it is a problem.

Child psychologist, Dr. Debra Kowalski, explains, "With children having so much exposure to the media, the messages that come across… are very important and they shape how a child sees the world and what a child sees as important. …A lot of the messages related to violence and sexuality can negatively impact a child."

The repetition of violence causes children to become desensitized. The same thing happens to adults, but children are more vulnerable. It also holds true for explicit sexual content. In fact, relatively little exposure to pornographic material at an early age can significantly disturb a child and interact with their sleeping and other behaviors. It can also affect the way they interact socially with peers, as well as foster anxiety and fear in other situations.

Michael Suman, coordinator of The Center for Communications Policy at the University of California at Los Angeles, is doing a three year analysis of the effects of violence on television. He makes the following observations:

"Violence on television, basically, has three types of negative effects on people."

INCREASES VIOLENCE. "…Many studies show that violence on TV actually leads to aggressive, violent behaviors in the world, most prominently through imitation. They see people being violent on TV and they copy them as models. They imitate them."

DESENSITIZATION AND CALLOUSNESS. "People become desensitized. This includes being callous towards people who've been victims of violence." (Ted Baehr, movie and television specialist and publisher of the Christian "Movie Guide", comments, "We say 'it's ok, we've seen it on television. That behavior is fine.' We no longer object to behavior [and language] that a few years ago we would have been insulted by… We've become very desensitized, and it's corrupting.")

FEAR. "It makes them more fearful." Children may have the false notion that violence or abuse is around every corner and that there is no good in this world. While this may be partly true, it is misleading and can cause much damage during the developmental stages of life.

Do you allow your family to watch programming riddled with violence? Does your heart lead you down the path of worldliness, seeking violence? Or are you active in showing your family that true followers of Christ are known as peacemakers in this violence-scarred society? As the old proverb goes, your actions speak louder than your words. my husband has oral cancer and had his tongue removed ,floor of his mouth and jaw bone they had a feeding tube in his nose but the dr. said it would be better to have a peg tube put into his stomach we went to have this done and they said they was going to put him to sleep because he had just had a 14 hour surgery they gave him something to put him to sleep which didnt work and took him to the operating room i left and came back in about an hour they told me i could go see him and there he was wide awake and crying in pain he told me they didnt put him to sleep all they done was took out his trach and tied him to the bed and ran a 16 gauge needle into his stomach and a scope down his throat which tore up all the surgery they had done in is mouth he was talking before they did the scope but not after he told me everything they did to him when we got home and i looke dit up and he was right when i took him back to see his cancer dr he asked me what happened to his mouth and i told him

My Compaq R3000 laptop often does not use AC power, even when it's been plugged in (and had the plug held in) several times. And, after it gets power, it often powers off within 30 seconds to 1 minute and has to run on the battery (often it can not boot completely without the battery).

Do you know if Compaq will fix this (apparently, I've read, many R3000's have the same problem)? Where's the best place to get it fixed (or is there anywhere I can get good instructions how to fix it myself...I am great at fixing hardware in desktops just have very limited experience with laptops)?

Or is it best to reinstall an entirely new motherboard (and if so, can I upgrade to a core duo motherboard/new processors without causing any conflicts)?

I have a friend of 8 months and just found out he is married and he didnt tell me. He says he just never thought of telling me. I was born both genders but raised male even though I am more female. He knows all about this. He is a personal trainer and very much into me getting in great shape. I asked him once who he lives with and he said another male trainer BUT did not mention a wife. He is all smiles around me and has said he is thankful for me. He met his wife 4 yrs ago and dated for 1 year before getting married. My friend knows how I feel about him. He did this skit where he wore a pink tutu and danced infront of a lot of people then sent me a pic of it. Is my friend falling in love with me? Does he sound gay and living behind a marriage? Why didnt he tell me he is married?
