Don't buy a Yorkshire Terrior, or any dog for that matter online. This is one of the most irresponsible things you can do when buying a pet. Look up registered breeders in your area and go to one that has pups available. The Kennel Club can advise you on this. This way you'll be sure you're getting a healthy, happy dog. Make sure you an see the parents also, or at least the mother. And expect to pay good money for a good, well bred dog.
Why to buy from a registered breeder:
1) they take care of their animals and are just as concerned with the dogs as they are in making a living. Puppy farms (who will advertise onlne) are just interested in making a quick buck.
2)You'll get a healthy dog. Many many dogs who are bought from puppy farms have worms and other bad diseases like Parvo and Kennel Cough. At the least it may have fleas or ticks. Do you really want to be forking out £2000 in vet bills in the first 2 months of buying a dog?
3)You can see the mother. A mother dog who looks healthy and well fed and happy, and who is in good, clean dry surrounding with her pups is the best indication that the dog you are buying will be healthy.
4)Puppy farmers don't care about genetic diseases like epilepsy or diabetes - these diseases will cost you a FORTUNE in the long run.
5)Puppy farms should be discouraged as much as possible for the welfare of dogs (and dog owners).
6)Registered breedes will give you all the support and advice you need in your new dog. They will also give you puppy food and six weeks of insurance.
Please dont buy a dog online or go for the cheapest option available. It's a miserable start for a dog that has been farmed for quick money, and buying from puppy farms only makes the problem worse. If you do insist on buying online and cheaply, then you don't deserve to have a dog and I hope you have to pay out tens of thousands in vet fees.

NEVER buy online or from a pet store. As stated in earlier posts, both of these methods contribute to the suffering of animals. Check out the Yorkshire Terrier rescue site:

I don"t think anyone should buy pets on line. There are alot of homeless dogs , all breeds in shelters, you can find all sorts of dogs on petfinders.com.There are way to many dogs dying just because there are all ready to many born to find homes for. I hope you will consider this as a way to find a future dog. They make the best pets, I have 4 dogs I love dearly all were rescues. Dava
