I love the look that shows up in many movies, whenever they try to portray a room belonging to a crazy professor or magical wizzard. Generally it's full of leather books, dark wood or gothic stone, and full of shiny brass objects,(astrolabes, orreries, armillary sphers) or collections of "mystical" objects, sometimes in display cases. Generally speaking, it's a kind of distracted style, and a bit messy, but an educated messy, if there is such a thing. It's almost like an enlarged cabinet of curiosities. Is there any decorating style that includes this type of design? Another example is the herpetologist's house in Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events.

I am 17 weeks along with my first child, my boyfriends second. I havent been getting any sleep. I have to move to a completely different room half way through the night because my boyfriend snores to loud. The other bed is uncomfortable. I am irratable because I cant get enough sleep. Plus I have been having cramping that makes me sick to my stomache. To put on top of that I feel like all I do is clean. Then when I remind him and his son to pick up after themselves he flips a lid. I mean I am not a maid. All I want them to do is help keep it clean. What should I do?

I am in my late 20s and I hear so many people say get an IRA, 401k, try saving with your bank through mutual funds, or CDs but what do I do? I just started a new job and they offer nothing. My last job had 401k and plans were already mapped out so all I had to do was contribute $100 a month. So now I am looking for ways I can save for retirement but with so many choices, and investment companies which company should I choose and once I find one what route should I take. I do not want to be 65 and still have to work 50 hours. I appreciate any help.

It freaks me out how for the past hundred years we have had issues with language in Quebec but now we going to add a whole new issue to the pot. Does anyone realize that this country has been a melting pot of citizens from Italy, China, India etc and they just melded into our society with no fuss, no muss. Never demanding anything special. Recently the new influx of refugees are making big noises and demading this and that. The canadian job bank even comes in Spanish now, I would be insulted if I were italian or greek or whatever. I never knew there was a huge spanish community in Canada and why not chinese or Italian. What gives. Its not meant to be racist just show how unfair it is to all Canadians of different ethnic backgrounds. Maybe if we all stuck together we could make this country either fully bilingual or one language and we could all get along better as our government would pay to teach everyone the same dang language.

Are there any days you just have to take off from it, like when you do something so bad that you just feel you don't have the desire to talk to God about it or you are too ashamed to?

Like yesterday was a really bad day for me and by me, since I said and thought some really bad things, and at the end of the day when I usually pray, I just felt like I was too far away from God because of what I did to pray openly to Him.

Has anyone else had this experience and how did you deal with it?

I make more than my GF ($60,000 vs. $15,000)

She is upset that I won't buy a house (I am a caretaker for my 92 yr old aunt who raised me)

We don't stay together (my GF and I)
She is always struggling to pay her bills.
B/C I make a good amount of money I have alot of disposible income.

I don't want to get an apt because I feel as if it's a waste of money (no tax benefits)

She is always complaining that I spend too much money.
She doesn't know my cash flow, so how could she know I spend to much.


I do spend alot of money but I also save alot of money to.

Somedays I think she is envious/jealous of me.

Why is it that the process of giving birth is so painful? I'm not talking about the actual birthing of the baby, I'm talking about the contractions of the uterus which cause the cervix to dilate. Why are they painful? Are there nerve endings in the uterus? If so why, what useful purpose does it serve for labour to be so painful?
