hospital blew it off as nothing and sent me home in a cab after a few hours, no insurance. I am just fine, but is this a normal reaction to the flu?

yeah they called me a cab, they really didn't want to, gave me a voucher for it, sent me down the hall in my pajamas I arrived in and I walked alone, almost passing out still, I was very weak. I don't want a freebie but I don't want to die, or fall out in the street.

It can happen, although it's not really typical. Do you have a family doctor you can call? It's always a good idea to follow up with them after an ER visit anyway.

Im no doctor and I dont think passing out is normal, but I also know this flu apparently is very different and makes people sicker so passing out could be a cause of the flu if you were running a high fever or coughing hard etc. My man had it and it took him 3 weeks to get over it completely I would thihk that by you going to the doctor or hosp. they would know if it was serious enough to keep you or not but then again you know your body better than anyone I would just get it checked out again if you have anymore symptoms but would go to a regular doctor and not the hospital then go from there if you are fine now and not having any problems or side affects then chaulk it up to the flu.

NO it is not a normal reaction! If you were taking cold or flu medicine previously you may have a heart condition that is rearing its ugly head. I would see a doctor.

If you had insurance, you probably would have been admitted, had blood work, some IV antibiotics, an infectious disease consult, x rays and some therapy. Gotta luv the wonderful health care system in the great ol' US of A. I guess we should be glad they at least had the courtesy to call you a cab. LOL, but SAD.
