Because so many families are dysfunctional to some degree will you look forward to the occasion or attend out of a sense of duty?

I'm going to visit my grandma, mom, and little brother over christmas weekend and since my family aren't big cooks I thought it would be fun just to make snack foods. Any suggestions on what I could make? I've thought of Rotel, Sugar Christmas Cookies, and Little Smokies. I would love some more suggestions!! Thanks!!

One of our deacons Andy DeMello physically abused a child in an act of rage by choking and strangling him. We're trying to cover this up and save face rather than punish him. We don't want to let everyone know we are practicing injustice and covering up an evil deed. Are we violating the following Scriptures?

1 Timothy 3:8
Deacons, likewise, are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain.

1 Timothy 3:10
They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.

1 Timothy 5:20
Those who sin are to be rebuked publicly, so that the others may take warning.

A Jewish father asks his son what he wants for his 15th birthday....'A trip in a plane'...says the son. So the father phones the airports & gets quotes of £150-£300 an hour. 'No way am I paying that' he says. One day the 2 of them are out walking & they come across a crop sprayer just about to board his open topped plane. The father tells him about his son's birthday & asks him a price...'.£100 for an hour' he replies. The father says there's no way he's willing to pay more than £10 and that's final. So the crop sprayer sensing he can have a bit of fun at the father's expense says...'Tell you what, I'll take you 2 up for an hour but if I hear a sound from you, you pay me £100, If you keep silent you can have the trip for free. So up they go, the pilot's doing back flips, twists, loops, plumetting towards the ground, & flying upside down. Afterwards the pilot said he didn't know how they kept silent. 'Wasn't easy said the father.......' I had to bite my tongue when the son fell out'!

Serious question. It seems African-American is the most popular and PC term today but most of my fellow Americans of this race are no more "African" than I am European. Sometimes the terms black and white are used but actually actually we're varying shades of brown. I'm considered Caucasian or Caucasoid so I was curious if refering to someone as ***** or ******* was offensive.

Last week in his column, George Will cited the rationale that then-defense secretary Dick Cheney gave the New York Times for not going into Iraq during the Persian Gulf War:

"Once you've got Baghdad, it's not clear what you do with it....It's not clear what kind of government you would put in place of the one that's currently there. Is it going to be a Shia regime, a Sunni regime, or a Kurdish regime? One that tilts toward the Baathists, or one that tilts toward the Islamic fundamentalists? How much credibility is that government going to have if it's set up by the United States military when it's there? [Remember: this is the current Vice-President of the United States talking.] How long does the United States military have to stay to protect the people that sign onto that government, and what happens to it once we leave?"

So what changed Cheney's attitudes about going into Iraq? There has to be more to it than just 9/11.

A little different. Not the most expensive, not the best you have ever heard of, just the best you've ever had (white and red).
What food paired best with it?
I live near Napa Valley and deal frequently with wine. So I am really interested, what wine people think is "taste wise" the best they have ever had....
Already thank you!

I have never made any of these recipes before, but they sound and look delicious. I saw them in a family circle magazine and I would like to make one of them for Thanksgiving. Which do you think would be best?

Option 1: Harvest pie....it has Granny Smith apples, pears, dried cherries, almonds, sugars, cinnamon, and nutmeg in it. It is a classic double pie crust.

Option 2: Cherry almond tart......it is in the shape of a rectangular cake. It has cinnamon, sugar, sliced almonds, and cherry preserves. It sounds pretty simple, but looks good and "fancy".

Option 3: Walnut spice cake.....the cake part has ground cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar and brown sugar....and the frosting has maple extract, rum extract, and toasted walnuts (to be pressed on the sides).

Option 4: Pineapple crumb buns......this looks and sounds good except for the pineapple part, I don't really like them in cakes and things. What could I substitute? Since I asked what I could substitute for pineapple I'll be more precise in telling you the ingredients:

Dough:
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup solid vegetable shortening
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup warm water (105 to 115 degrees)
1 envelope active dry yeast
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2/3 cup pineapple spread able fruit

Topping:
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
3 tablespoons confectioners sugar

So, what do you think? Not exactly the healthiest recipes but it is Thanksgiving after all. Thanks for the help!

I was wondering about selling baseball cards. I have a huge collection of some nice cards and am wondering where is the best place to sell the cards. I know you can sell them on Ebay pretty easily but I'm sure there must be a way to sell them for more money then there. I was also wondering if it really increased their value if you hold on to them for a while, because if it goes up enough that may be worth it. Thanks for the help!

Grandpa and Grandma were spending a few weeks to visit with their son and his family. One night, Grandpa found a bottle of Viagra in his son's medicine cabinet. He asked him about taking one of the pills.

"Dad," his son replied, "I really don't think you should take one. They're very strong and besides that, they're very expensive."

"How much?" asked Grandpa.

"$10 a pill," was the answer.

"That ain't bad," responded Grandpa. "I'd like to try one. All I have are $50 bills, so I'll go break one and leave the money under your pillow."

The next morning the son found $110 under his pillow. So as soon as he could, he spoke to Grandpa privately. "Dad, you gave me $110 but I told you the pill only cost $10."

"I know that, son," Grandpa replied. "The extra hundred is from Grandma."
