Rosenblum Cellars - 2004 Petite Sirah Heritage Clones
rated 92 and cost $17. Very bold, strong and goes well with a steak and thai chicken pizza what else could you ask for!!

So far, the '64 Cheval Blanc.
Had Screaming Eagle, Harlan, Caymus, Maya, Latour, Lafite, Margaux, Mouton (the '82 is almost sheer nectar as well!) Petrus (even the '82 & '89 I did not care for) LaFleur (very, very good) and some of the new garagist wines from St. Emilion are awesome. Try the '98 Quinault L'Enclos at about $80/bottle, it is as good as any first growth from any vintage.
I know you said not the most expensive and I have not had it, but the 1985 DRC Romanee-Conti (Burgundy) sold at auction for over $180,000 for 6 magnums! The highest price on record for wine

A very subjective question and keep in mind everyone's pallet is very different. Thus the reason for so many different wines.
We do very well and highly recommend wines that are $10-15 in price range.
Hawk Crest Cabernet Sauvignon paired with any red meats
Tohu Sauvignon Blanc paired with seafood and chicken
Elysium Muscat with a chocolate cake and raspberry sauce

I really enjoyed a red wine from Kathryn Kennedy called "LATERAL" with a Chocolate Pots du Creme. The wine was a blend of a variety of grapes, the predominant one was Merlot.

I like Tuscan Moon 2005 Sangiovese with pasta. It would be great with pork or beef dishes as well.
