I was born and raised in Yonkers. Stay away from the south west side (Hudson River)
Some parts are still good. Don't listen to people who don't live in NY

When I think "nice and safe", Yonkers does not come to mind. My sister went to Sarah Lawrence though, which is right on the edge of yonkers in a town called Bronxville....Bronxville is quite nice.

I lived in Yonkers for a a couple of years. It had it's bad areas, but I thought I lived in an area that wasn't that bad. It was near Mclean ave and the Major Deagan expwy . It's not that far from Sarah Lawrence college mentioned by a previous person.

north east yonkers is ok.Take it from me as i grew up in yonkers.There are not a lot of safe places any more.I'm from south yonkers and i loved every minute of it.I would never trade those memories for any thing.

McLean Avenue is Safe and Nice. A lot of irish around there. I lived there for 5 years.

yonkers is getting worse and worse, Its not a nice place to live.
