I picked this tick off my dog yesterday and I'm wondering if anyone knows what kind of tick it is. It is obviously a highly engorged tick and is about 1 cm long. 

Here are some close up photos (I used my cell phone camera so the resolution is not great.) I took one of the top and two of the bottom.

I had to file for bankruptcy because I got behind on my house payments. My boyfriend is paying all the other bills. My ex roommate didn't pay me for 4 months leaving me to pick up all the bills alone. Her part of the bills added up to $2460.00. I am depressed over loosing my job and I hate looking for one. I'm sleeping too late in the day and everything is just falling apart right before my eyes. What is wrong with me? I need to go get a job but I don't.

It occured to me that we've used up a lot of oil, coal, and natural gas. What percentage is left? In other words, let's say that we had 100% of it 1,000 years ago. What's remaining? I ask this for several reasons:

1. We MUST find and effectively use an alternate energy source sooner or later.
2. It would be nice to break our dependence on foreign oil.
*** 3. If we were to have some worldwide disaster and end up back in the Dark Ages, or even the Stone Ages ... we might not have enough fossil fuels to get back to where we are today. ***

Could we end up being stuck in a primitive, Medieval type existence forever if we were to slip now?

I have followed the revisions for the past forty or fifty years in person. I know Kevin Phillips' The Emerging Republican Majority very well.

But when and why did the Republican Party become identified as the party of corporate America? And the Democrats as the party of the working class and the poor? How did the Democratic Party become the home of the Solid South; hence, associated with racist "states' rights"? And how did Teddy Roosevelt's reforms of Big Business and Eisenhower's warning against the military/industrial complex, originate within the Republican Party.

I'm looking for a good book (or books) that might address such questions as these.

When are we honest about cannabis? With legalising it we cut down the crime rate by 50% and we can talk like civilized people. While I was working as a computer engeneer I visited many homes and many people including policemen, bankers, politicians and they shared a smoke with me. And none of them was a low level participant. Stop lying and legalize it.
By making it illegal we only help the crooks and terrorists to get rich and destabelising society.
