Can anyone name the mathematician from Bihar, India, who had worked in NASA, and was poisoned by his community (perhaps his wife) and made mad? Owing to his deep involvement with mathematics his wife was led by her community to believe that he was perhaps possessed, so was not attentive to household chores.

Vashistha Narayan Singh. He was a brilliant product of Netarhat school and then joined Science College, Patna. He was picked up by the then Principal, Dr. S . Nagendra Nath, who while teaching Math spotted Vashistha's talent. Ho moved the then Vice Chancellor, Dr. George Jacob who allowed him to take simultaneous exam of two classes. Vashistha did well in all and was given MSc.He then proceeded to USA and got his doctorate. It is a real tragedy that such a brilliant career doomed because no body in his family realised what a gem of the mathematician he was.
