My father recently read an interesting piece about a battle from World War II, but lost it before I had a chance to see it. It was about a small group of Canadians who had captured an enemy fort, but were quickly surronded by Japense soldiers. The Japense thought they had an easy victory, but the Canadians wouldn't surrender, and fought for 10 days, even after they ran out of bullets. Rocks and mud met the Japense as they entered the fort and captured the Canadians. Does anyone know when and where said battle took place?

I don't like to pay for my food,
And on the rare occassions that I am forced to pay,
I NEVER leave a tip. But that goes without saying.
What's so wrong about that?

OK, Friday afternoon I went out to eat at Hooters (Oooh, yes, HOOTERS) and had a hamburger cooked rare. Before I went to bed that night, I started to throw up. Could it have been the burger? Or is it something else, like the flu? I haven't thrown up all day...and I'm starving. Is it OK to eat something big, like a meal, or should I give it a couple of days and just continue on eating crackers? Thanks!

Take a look at all of the people in China, Japan, India, Iran, Iraq, Africa , Mexico and they all pretty much have black hair . Anyone who is not white has black hair . I wonder why ? Is that just the way God created humanity?

Please do not quote to me from the Bible or any other text. I'm not looking for an "explanation" of what God is. How do you personally EXPERIENCE God?

I'm looking for personal perspectives and experiences only.

Many scientists have studied the gorillas and none have discovered them changing into humans. Were these somehow left behind by mistake? Did they miss the cutoff date?
I have always wondered about this.

Do you feel democratic, republican, or independent that our opions do not count. That they tell us what they think we want to hear. That the smear tatics have gone to far. I feel that the reason we are where we are in this country politicallly is so to speak the changing of the guard, The old guard and beliefs are moving out and a new guard moving in. This is what I see and hear ( which I will admit it not the best barometer) people who appear over 65 or a little older do not seem to understand this war is not like ANY OTHER war we have fought, the age group that appears between about 40 to 55 understand it a new type of war whether they agree with it or not. Then you hear the younger generation who seem to be split down the middle about this war. In each of the groups that I have listened or participated in the conversation it always reverts to The Iraq war and it's politics and that brings on comments about the parties.I want a real people president not a politican. What do you want

I live in New York State (not the city) and I was wondering how old you have to be to own a riffle or shotgun. Do you have to pass a test?

Also, what are the N.Y. laws about pocket knifes? I carry one everywhere (except school), is there a law or age restriction against that?
