We did not evolve from apes. God made man above the animals. Apes and Gorillas are animals and are below man. That's why they can't speak the human language fluently.

Hi, good question...
I am by no means an expert on this subject, but will try to pass some of what I've learned about the subject.
Think of evolution as a tree with a trunk and branches: Humans, the great apes and so forth are the branches; the common Ape ancestor would be the trunk. Evolution does not suggest we necessarily come from Chimpazees or orangutans or other Apes that exist today (as I understand it) but more from a common Ape ancestor.
The problem, it seems, that people have with the theory of evolution is that of time. It is not possible to do tests to prove it, since it requires a substantial amount of time to see significant changes (more than a thousand human lifetimes...)-. There are exceptions to this though, but unfortunately mostly in "lower" forms of life, like bacteria and even some insects. All the evidence we can get is from fossils from animals that are not alive any more, but still, it is amazingly compelling.
So, to answer your question, no, they did not "miss the cutoff date" (funny!). they have been treading alongside us humans in different paths during the same time in history. Hope this helps, :)

Good question. I thought about that as well.
You have to understand what evolution means in order to understand why some species are unable to change or reluctant to change and stay the same ways.
Time will be the factor for change if a specie is needed for change. Also, it takes more than just want to change or be forced to change to become different. It also depends on Luck and by chance as well sometimes.
Not all make it through and many died out. Soon the Tiger could be just an image we saw in pictures or the panda. Gorillas might not even have a chance to evolve into more like humans when humans are the ones help to kill them off of this planet.
Humans do have a tail but most humans don't want to accept that idea because they think they are made in the image of God.

Humans evolved from Apes, but not those that are alive today. The species of apes which are around today - Gorillas, Chimpanzees and Orangutans, for example - also evolved from ancient species of apes.
Evolution is like a tree, constantly branching out as you move upwards. All of the species of apes are a set of twigs shooting off from a larger branch below. Orangutans spit off this larger branch about 12 million years ago and went their own way. Gorillas and then Chimpanzees split off from the human branch between 8 and 4 million years ago.
Orangutans, Gorillas and Chimpanzees of course still exist, because they have evolved in separate directions. Humans did not evolve from Orangutans or Gorillas or Chimps - we share a common ancestor.

Well, the theory talks of apes who did not move to the plains evolved differently as compared to us human beings.
But your question is very interesting from another angle. The current apes could perhaps evolve in the distant future as a different set of human beings, and who knows, may be more powerful both physically and mentally than we can ever be. This indeed is a possible outcome of evolution, where in course of time we wouldn't remain the most intelligent being even if no super beings visit the earth from the outer space.

FOR THE LAST TIME: NO scientist ever said humans evolved from apes. This was a rumor started by Christians to try and discredit Darwin's theory of evolution. If you have anymore questions, I recommend you actually do some research (start by reading Darwin's book "Origin of Species") and refrain from spreading ignorance!

It all depends on the conditions they live in.
For example, let's say that two groups of the same species live in different areas for a long time. One group is in the rainforest, and another is in the savanna.
Do YOU think that the group living in the rainforest will develop the same characteristics through evolution as the ones living in the savanna?
Of course they wouldn't! Different climates, food sources, predators/prey, and many other factors all contribute to which path evolution will take. So, just because a group of primates in one area became bipedal doesn't mean that another group somewhere else will gain the same features.
However, some species are so well-adapted for their environments that they evolve very slowly, such as sharks. Sharks have been around for millions of years, but they still remain basically the same.
There is no "cut-off date" for evolution. It just depends on how adapted a species is for where they live, and that will affect how dynamic their evolution paths are.

Some would argue that apes evolved from humans....
Evolution did not build its house on the sands, but knew that humans would evolve capability to eliminate themselves via North Korea or whichever religious fanatic creates the next weapon of mass conversion.
Thus, Evolution has a backup tape to reboot, for lack of a better term.

Why would you believe that gorillas would change into humans? Matbe being gorillas is better for their survival.
The point is that we, humans, gorillas, chimpanzees, baboons, gibbons, orangutans, etc. ALL have COMMON ANCESTORS; we ALL evolved in different ways. They weren't "left behind", they evolved n a different way.
Here's a better question for you: we are NOT descended directly from Cro-Magnon man yet we obviously had common ancestors, and may have lived in some of the same places at the same times. What became of Cro-Magnon man?

Why do people try so hard to believe in anything other than God which is the truth, they come up with a million theorys and other non-sense stop and try God for yourself he is real. Can evolution explain a miracle? They happen everyday maybe if you witness something that man can't explain you would believe. Jesus is the way
