I live in New York State (not the city) and I was wondering how old you have to be to own a riffle or shotgun. Do you have to pass a test?

Also, what are the N.Y. laws about pocket knifes? I carry one everywhere (except school), is there a law or age restriction against that?

Call the city police or sheriffs department and ask them. Yes you will have to take a gun safety course.

same question only now you have the state listed? it would have made more sense that you searched NY state law in the past 15 minutes-you'd have that answer already.
