Because their training brainwashes them to believe that the are way different from the arm or the national guard or the air force. They are different but not as much as they'd like you to think.

The Army and the Marines are totally different branches of the armed forces. I just usually ask which branch they are in.

Wouldn't be because people in the Marine forces are much more of stronger people? Meaning they go through more of a harsh traning than the Army.

Because they are extremely proud of being Marines. Think of it this way: Suppose you met someone who graduated from Harvard and you asked if he graduated from Omaha Auto Repair School. He'd probably be a bit miffed.

Maybe you could learn to recognize the uniform. Marines wear the "globe, eagle, and anchor". This might save you some embarrassment.

because they have it stuck in there head they are better than everyone else think about it it is all the same i mean a solder is a solder don't matter how they became one... and if they are so much tougher then why does a simple question hurt them
