Many of today's best-selling authors use apalling grammar, misuse words, and give innacurate information in their novels. I can only conclude that no one checks their manuscripts for errors.
Whenever I see "NYT Best selling author" on a cover, the first thing I think is "bad grammar".
One very popular and prolific writer recently had a character get on a train going north from London to go to Cornwall! How long would it have taken her to look at a map and find out that Cornwall is south west of London?
I write novels and, even after five or six revisions, I need someone else to go through the manuscript and find things I've overlooked.
Shouldn't the editor at the publishing company do this, or have a copy editor go over the manuscript before sending it to be typeset?

I had my cat to the vets a couple days ago for coughing. He said hairballs don't make them cough--and gave her an exam saying everything was ok--and advised in changing her litter because of the dust. He told me to get arm and hamer--but I think the baking soda is just as dusty-he says it's not the same. She's still coughing on and on--seems to be while she's sleeping and sometimes after she eats--but it's not a cold-cough--more like somethings stuck in her throat. Any ideas?

It could be your own kids, neighbor kids, your students, relatives or grocery store pests.
I prefer BeBe's Kids, Rugrats and if someone has a lot of kids, I call them the Brady Bunch...
I refer to my daughter as Satan, Brat and Diarrhea Tia (only when she's runny and it rhymes).

Do you say these things aloud or just think them?

She never had children. She is always complaining that she has to pay property taxes for schools and never buys anything when she does look at the books. I have this friend who I am extremely attracted to. Every time we see each other we end up having sex. It isn't like all we do is have sex but it is pretty often. We do other things besides that, we know each others family, hang out.etc. Ithink When we became friends I had feelings for him but just didn't want a relationship at the time so it was never an issue. I don't think he wanted one either. We both date other people and we maintain our friendship, but my feelings for him have changed. I find myself wanting to be with him in a relationship and for us to be exclusive. I really don't know how he would react to this because I honestly don't know if he is thinking about it. I know this is all my fault for allowing myself to be in the sexual relationship without knowing how I truly felt first. I'm really asking if what I want is even possible or is it to late? I don't want to wake up one day and he tell me he has a gf now it was fun.

we are almost done with the current book, and I'm starting the search for the next one. I would like to read to them about the changes their bodies will start going through, so that they can understand that the process is normal, and what to expect. We have had many talks about it, but I fear I may leave some things out as my mother wasn't as thurough with me. Any suggestions?

I see it happening more often than not and to someone confused about religion, frankly, many religious people come off looking like hippocrits. I see catholics taking birth control, baptists drinking, all kinds of religious people thinking that they are God and condemning people to hell for their actions (Isn't that God's job and isn't there some verse about NOT judging), and just being nasty people, but somehow thinking they're above everyone else. I want to believe in something but not besides these people. HELP?!?
