First, get the dog off the bed and keep it off. You are only asking for aggressive behavior when you let the dog assume such a dominant position. If your dog will not be content to sleep on her own bed, you may need to crate train her. I suggest contacting a professional dog trainer if you continue to have problems or if the dominant aggressive behavior isn't resolved.

I had this happen to. I got my St. Bernard puppy when my husband was stationed over seas in Iraq and the whole time my pooch shared my bed with me. When my husband came home my dog seen him as a threat and would growl whenever he came near me including in bed. it took time and patients, but soon they got used to each other. He still sleeps in bed with us, but now on the other side of me so I am in the middle. I get to cuddle with my husband and my dog still feels like he is near me.

Yes-mine grew up with me and in my bed.
I married and the dog had to go. I put her bed at the foot of the bed. She loved it just fine, BUT!!! she snored like crazy!! So now, she is outside the bedroom door in her bed. She likes it just there, too. As long as she can either smell or see me, close by, she is just fine.

My dog was probably seven or eight when I started kicking her out of the bed. My new husband(then, boyfriend ), grossed out at the thought.
She is ten, now, and at nine, she was out of the bedroom.

You need to be firm and no matter how many times you need to get if off the bed, keep being consistent because thats the only way, otherwise it will run you because it only knows itself as the leader of the pack in your family, because of this. you are the pack leaders.

It can be fixed and try making a noise or snap and point when you correct him everytime so he knows you mean business. don't treat an animal like a human, you can love them still and treat them great without spoiling them. Good Luck=)

Yes I have 2 little pomeranians and a chinchilla and all 3 of them sleep with us! We bought them each a doggie bed aand NOPE. If they have been use to this for a long time- the only thing I can say is get a bigger bed! Dogs naturally sleep in a HUDDLE with their pack and they see you and your hubby as their pack! Sooooo cuddle up and love them to peices!

Get her a bed of her own but keep it in your room so she can be there too. If you make a big deal of her new bed maybe she'll like it enough and be excited to sleep there. Dogs usually like to be tucked in somewhere cozy so if you have a big closet in the room or a nice corner, put the bed there. Good luck!

Hehe! sensible canines! i might save giving him the treats, yet in hassle-free terms while he unquestionably is going to the bathing room. additionally, it seems such as you're giving the treats while he comes back interior the homestead--so the behaviour you're reinforcing is coming interior the homestead, unlikely to the bathing room. i think of the quickest thank you to alter the challenge behaviour may be to furnish him the handle exterior, right this moment after he relieves himself so he friends the handle with going to the bathing room, quite than coming back interior. If he nevertheless thinks he ought to get a handle interior, merely chuckle at him and supply him some petting, then ignore approximately his begging. he will decide rather speedy what actaully gets him the handle.

buy the dog a real nice comfortable dog bed put in it treats to get the dog to lay in it and start to like it more than laying in the bed. more than likely the dog likes the warmth of the bed so get a heated bed.
