I need a simple how-to task I could teach to high schoolers for a presentation in my oral interpretation class in a time limit of approx. 10 minutes (or less.)

I need an answer/suggestion by the weekend please.

Gun control?
How to use birth control?
How to clean their bong?
Exactly how many inches of underware to show off?
140 practical uses for the word "Yo"?
How to sleep in class?
How to pretend you're Ashton Kutcher?
How to pretend you're one of the characters on the OC?

Or, maybe, you can just explain to them the best things to say in a job interview. You know, like answers to all of the obvious questions. That is what they really need to know.

How to put on, and walk in, high heels---stilettos, if you can manage them. No, I'm not being completely snarky about that, either....

The fashionistas will be monitoring how you do, the lechers will be hoping for some leg, the average kids will take it reasonably OK, and it **certainly** beats "sewing on a button". Not to mention if you're as AWKWARD in heels as I am (look like a blindfolded drunk with a _very_ bad neurological deficit, on anything more than a 2-inch heel), you can get some giggles in the presentation--which is always a blessing in high school classes, in my experience.

Good luck!

You want a fun how-to task because a routine task would be boring to your audience including the teacher who will be grading you.

You will want to look at your skill set to see what you know already know.

Worse comes to worse, you could always teach them how to make a homemade greeting card using a book from the library.

The typical one when I was young, was making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I talked about playing trumpet and one guy talked about repelling, but I cannot remember anybody else as I graduated 22 years ago! Just don't teach them how to clean a gun, people might get upset!

Changing a flat tire comes to mind, but could you do it in the classroom? The pet idea was a fun. In my speech class a man demostrated changing a washer in a leaking faucet, that helped me alot, but I don't know about teens. Maybe prepare a stirfry?

Can you bring in a pet? I always liked the presentations with pets because they were more fun and held people's interest. I watched one on grooming a dog and one on teaching a dog tricks. They were far more interesting than watching how to sew on a button.
