OK I went on an interview on my b-day August 10th for a job I really want. The following Monday (8/14) I had a second interview with the same company for the same job. I had an employment test right after that interview. One day later the Human Resources Manager told me they were down to a couple of candidates and needed references. The next day the human resources manager went on vacation and won't be back until August 28th. She left an emergency call number for another person in human resources on her voicemail. Do you think I should call that emergency number and ask what is going on with the job? I haven't heard anything and I am going crazy over here. I am worried that I lost the job. I don't want to hurt my chances by being too pushy, but I don't want to lose the job either. What would you do? Thanks for your opinions and advice.

My loan company still hasnt sent my damn check so I can pay for books and school and I get get anymore financial aid. They said I wont get a check until late next week. So how do I get some money fast so I can at least get books? Books are about $400 altogehter.

It was agreed by the person who borrowed money from me to repay it on 12 Aug 2006 in full, however the person now refuses to repay loan and I would like to know what I can do legally to receive my money back with interest for interim of loan.

I have been with my man for 5 years and we just got married about 1 month ago, I love him to death, but ever since i've known him,he has not been very family oriented (at all) his family just never pushed that on him. He used to make the effort to get along with my family "which are outgoing and constanly are trying to make a family bond with him" but now that we are married he feels that if he does not need to "bond"and that he shouldnt be forced to. I never go to my house and visit because when we go, he has a serious face obviously showing that he rather be hanging out somewhere else. My mom is very sweet to him but she has a very strong character and she is starting not to like him at all which is causing me problems emotionally, and at home!I my sister's boyfriend which is REALLY trying to look good to my family (they are getting married next year) is doing his best to "bond".when i mention this to my husband he gets offended, and basically rebels. what do I do?

One day Mrs. Jones went to have a talk with the minister at the local church. "Reverend," she said, "I have a problem, my husband keeps falling asleep during your sermons. It's very embarrassing. What should I do?"

"I have an idea," said the minister. "Take this hatpin with you. I will be able to tell when Mr. Jones is sleeping, and I will motion to you at specific times. When I motion, you give him a good poke in the leg."

In church the following Sunday, Mr. Jones dozed off. Noticing this, the preacher put his plan to work. "And who made the ultimate sacrifice for you?" he said, nodding to Mrs. Jones.

"Jesus!", Jones cried as his wife jabbed him the leg with the hatpin.

"Yes, you are right, Mr. Jones," said the minister. Soon, Mr. Jones nodded off again. Again, the minister noticed. "Who is your redeemer?" he asked the congregation, motioning towards Mrs. Jones.

"God!" Mr. Jones cried out as he was stuck again with the hatpin.

"Right again," said the minister, smiling. Before long, Mr. Jones again winked off. However, this time the minister did not notice. As he picked up the tempo of his sermon, he made a few motions that Mrs. Jones mistook as signals to bayonet her husband with the hatpin again.

The minister asked, "And what did Eve say to Adam after she bore him his 99th son?"

Mrs. Jones poked her husband, who yelled, "You stick that goddamned thing in me one more time and I'll break it in half and shove it up your ***!"

"Amen," replied the congregation.

I was terribly lost and due to a badly scratched cornea had an emergency appointment with an opthamalogist across from the hospital. I couldn't see out of my right eye, was crying in pain and didn't make a complete stop. the police was so mean that he gave me a ticket and incorrect directions to the hospital. can i explain this to the judge or should i just suck it up and pay? i have no prior tickets for 25 years. thanks
