I had to ask a friend about this one. He said:
As far as he knows, "Shwti" is usually used in such phrases as "Shwti boi, croeso" (Hey, man, welcome).
"Cariad" means "love" or "lover".
So in this context, he thinks it means "Yo, lover!"

It's slang welsh.
Correct spelling: "Sut wyt ti cariad?" it means "How are you love?"
You'll hear it a lot between close friends.

In proper Welsh this would be: 'Sut yr ydwyt ti, fy Nghariad?' and it would mean: 'How are you, my darling?'.
But 'Yo, lover!' is close enough.
