I received a letter and a check in the amount of $3800 in the mail the other day. It screams fraud all over it. I tried to contact the bank but the phone number is not good. I doubt the bank even exists. Who should I report this to?

The United States Postal Service. Check their web site. They frown on the mail being used to commit fraud.

US Postmaster General. If you put the check in your account, you will be charged for a bad check. But, you can also prosecute the sender for fraud and a bad check charge. It's illegial to issue a bad check and punishable by law.
