Do you mean in their bed or "under" their bed? If you mean in their bed, I suggest calling a doctor. Could be a medical problem. If you mean under the bed, I suggest taking away the bed frame. That way there wouldn't be any "under" the bed to urinate on.

AWWW he might be having some night terrors! He may be very affected and stressed like everyone gets, and kids just deal with it in odd ways like this. Talk to him about it and ask him what he wants you to do or if he's scared. Its a sensitive subject I think for some children so dont make him feel ashamed or anything like that and dont push your beliefs on the subject either. Im sure you know better, but kids are so easily influenced,
when you ask him if he's scared too much, he may develop a fear. If it continues after talking for too long, go to the doctor, he may have deeper seeded issues. GOOD LUCK !

He may have been acting out to get back at you for something, or he may not even have been awake. My 7 year old sleep walks sometimes, and I've often found puddles in the most unusual places. I'd try not to worry and definitely don't over react. Chances are if it was an accident he's infinitely more upset than you already and being chastised will make him feel worse.

maybe he is sleep walking, have you talked to your child as somtimes its because they have somthing on there mind like when they wet the bed because they are scared of somthing or somthing is worrying them may just be a faze they are going through the worst thing you can do is shout at them for it. make sure they understand it is wrong and why but dont get upset with the child as this could make the problem worse. i have 2 kids 5 and 2 my son wet the bed a few times last yr but he soon grew out of it this was when he first went to school. may be for the attention as well. hope this helped

My son is 6 and did something similar in his room He decided that he didn't want to go down stairs in the middle of the night and started peeing in the corner of his room. At first I thought it was the cat until I caught him one night in the act. We had a long talk and I explained to him the importance of being clean and about the germs he was leaving in his room when he peed. I also had him clean it up by scrubbing the walls and carpet. He stopped doing it.

I have never had a 5 year old grandchild who wasn't afraid at night to go to the bathroom by themsevles....they have always had monitors in their rooms since birth and they just say, Mom, would you come here?" You are expecting way too much from your child, I think. This is not a big deal unless you obviously are making it a big deal!!!!!! Try some compassion.....it always works with human beings......

At 5 my son would urinate on the living room carpet behind the couch. He did this because he was lazy to got to the bathroom and did not want to miss any of his cartoons on Nick and disney. I punished him by not allowing him to watch tv. When he continued to do it I disconnected the cable.
This might not be the case with your son. If he does this at nights then maybe he is afraid to go to the bathroom. If he is afraid you might want to leave the bathroom lights on at nights. Dont get angry with him. Speak with him and try to find out why he does it and then find appropriate ways to address the situation. All the best!

It is common to think that the child is lazy or too afraid to go to the bathroom.
It could be an emotional issue, the child sleeps so deeply that they do not feel the urge to go to the bathroom, or fear of getting up and walking to the bathroom in the dark.

He's probably nervous and having some adjustment issues. Simply clean it up and make like it's no big deal. It's only been twice so I wouldn't say it's serious problem. If it was several times a week, you would want to worry about it more.

Don't read to much into this, ask him why he did it and maybe he'll tell you. If he says he doesn't know suggest some reasons to him and see which one he picks. Don't be cross but explain he shouldn't do it anymore. Kids do some mad stuff at this age but usually its all part of the growing and evolving as kids, as long as you know there is nothing bad is really bothering him it will just right itself.....
