I spent a year in Los Angeles back in 1999 and was surprised that hardly anyone knew what I meant when I would say that.

Here in New York, as kids we used odds and evens. I always assumed it was universal but I was wrong.

What I want to know is, What state or city were you raised in, and did you use odds and evens growing up. I'm curious to see if this is an east coast thing.

By the way, the folks I met in Cali all said they used rock, paper, scissors.

from 2004 till now i have gained about 200 pounds! i've been to the doctor and he looks at me like "yeah right" - seems like the phrase "fat, lazy cow" runs through his mind. i eat a pretty balanced diet, may splurge on pizza once a month or so - but i eat fresh fruits and veggies and lean protein. i drink plenty of water daily. my weight gain has really hindered my ability to "work-out", my knees creak and crack like you wouldn't beleive........but i haven't done anything different than i have my whole life, but the weight just keeps comming. what should i do? i can't get a second opinion b/c i don't have health coverage and i go to the free-clinic..and i've seen the doctor there - the one that tells me i should get up and "do" something...i tell you, i do more in a day than he does i bet.............any advice?

Pat Robertson has gone to Israel to be a cheerleader (just like Bush was a cheerleader) for the IDF as they bomb Lebanon back to the Middle Ages. But wait! Now, after saying that they would refuse to sign an agreement at the UN, the Israelis are making noises about signing an agreement. Why? Come on; what's wrong with a bloodbath for Jesus!
Did Jesus Christ tell the Israelis to stop? Why would they stop for him; they're Jewish! Does that mean Pat Robertson went to Israel for nothing? Can he ask Jesus for a refund on his airplane ticket? Does this mean that The Rapture will be delayed and all those southern red-state Christians which Karl Rove loves so much will not be swept into heaven, and that the Jews will not immediately convert to Christianity?
I'm really getting tired of Jesus delaying the Second Coming for so long. I have been waiting for a long time, and Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Tim Lahay and Jerry Jenkins have made millions getting me to believe that Jesus would come.
