I and my girl have been thinking about living in Seattle for a while and now contemplating our choices between Seattle and Bay area but leaning towards Seattle, what do you think about this?

Pros:
- Great job opportunities in IT (for myself)
- I love outdoors -- hiking, biking and snowboarding (The legendary Mt Baker and Whistler)
- I don't really mind overcast sky, we like cool temperature.
- I love books and coffee.
- I am really into photography -- heard that Seatte area in summer is like heaven.
- Close to Vancouver and Portland -- another two great cities.

Cons:
- Traffic is bad (but I really wonder will it be worse than the beltway in DC area?)
- Housing is expensive (again, I don't think it beat DC area just yet)
- Mostly overcast sky (although I don't think it will bother me that much but I just don't know yet..)
- What about job in accounting field (for my girl)?

really like SF Bay area too, but way too pricey

I can't find anyone even in Washington! I was just wondering if anyone lived in/near Seattle. Or even if you live in Idaho, Oregon, or Montana, that'd be great to hear from people who are sorta close to me!

I mean do you need to show your visa permit and other stuff; as you're actually travelling from the US to Canada...and thus you're crossing borders?

The reason why I'm asking this question was because I was thinking of taking my car and going to Vancouver and Victoria, BC...instead of Olympia and Portland, Oregon.

I really need to know what the difficulties are...

I'm doing research for some students and am trying to find out how many coffee shops, stands, cafes... (Starbucks, Tullys, SBC, independent...) are actually in Seattle. Would really appreciate a source also. Thank you in advance!

I need to know everything about Tacoma, from the weather to hot spots. Living there, whats it like and so on. I'm from the central valley here in California and I want to move so bad. I also need to know how close tacoma is from seattle. Whats the job market like for females. Also I need to know about other great communities, if there are any. I also want to buy a house when I get to Washington and need to know which place is going to give me the most house for my money. And if anybody knows about the nursing job market there that would be a plus. Are there lots of great schools, not just for children but to continue your education. Basically everything about Washington. And please only people that live there or have lived there!

I'm kinda new to riding the bus in the Seattle area, and I've invested in a bus pass. But it's the $1.25, off peak PugetPass, and I ride the bus during peak hours some days. So, what do I do? Will the pass still be valid even though it's not the right fare amount?

Tell me about I-90 from Billlings westbound. We want to drive it to Seattle next summer, but my youngest daughter hates roads through mountains with steep drop-offs. (Yes, I've tried counselling and even hypnosis for her fear of heights!) What is that highway like?

I have been here for 12 days and have a week to go. Now I know why washington has the highest suicidal rate. Please. Anything. Thanks

I'm from Southern California and know that Seattle will be raining and around 50-60 degrees next weekend, and I considered that's cold already. But someone just got back from Seattle last week telling me that actually didn't feel that cold at all... so what kind of clothing I should bring? I will be going for three days. I will be staying in downtown area, wondering are three days enough to see everything?

Thank you in advance =)

I want to relocate to Washington state. I'm struggling with what area to move to within the state. I'm looking for a city, area, town, or suburb that is very picturesque, with lovely flowers, landscaped streets and yards, green lawns, water and watefountains (that one is a biggie for me), attractive storefronts/malls, etc. For some reason, I need to be surounded by beauty and tranquility. What is the prettiest place to live in Washington? Thanks for your comments. You will really be helping out someone who needs to relocate but can't decide where.
