is it a long distance call?

If it's covered by your plan, most of the time you don't get charge long distance. If it is in your roaming area, like how T-Mobile does their coverage, then it should be included in your plan. Double check with your provider to make sure you are not spending a lot of money.

You'll need to check your actual service plan to find out the specifics. I'd say I'm about 99% sure that you can make the call, barring only if you actually blocked long-distance calling from your phone.

As for its being long-distance, it is, however, most cell phone companies in the states offer free long-distance calling within the US, so it should only cost minutes. I can't vouch for your service plan, as you didn't mention who your carrier is, so you should probably double check, just to be on the safe side (and the cheap side!).

If you are in your "home" range, then it's almost certainly NOT a long distance call as long as you're calling in the U.S. If in doubt, call 611 on your phone, and talk with a provider's representative. I know it's the middle of the night (I'm near Seattle, btw), but it's rare for there to be nobody available at all.

Should not be. I live in the middle of Missouri and in a small hilly area. And I call my daughter who lives in Tuscon or text her when ever I want to. I just am billed for the time we spend on the phone and charged for the call that way. So nothing to worry about. Go ahead and call. And my son lives down the Interstate from us about 2 hours away. And we talk or if he is at work leave messages for each other whenever we want to. The so called charges go to whoever called who. The first caller.

Well, that`s what cell phones are made for ;-) I`m not an expert in this field, but I`m European and travel a lot using my cell phone abroad all the time, so I don`t se y reason why it should not work. You have to check with your provider/cell phone company how much it costs.

It depends on what package you have. Call your cell phone carrier and ask them to review your plan with you in the line....I can call the entire NW and not get charged long distance because it's in my plan...

When we got our first cell phone...oh so long ago....Version was the only one that got coverage where we live, in rural Eastern Pierce County. It still gets the best coverage out here. I don't know how much better T-Mobile has gotten over the years.

It depends on your phone plan. Many plans cover just the state you live in, some cover the whole country. Nobody here can help you. Only you can look up what you are signed up to.
