What are the BEST schools in/around Renton. Looking to relocate with a elementary age child.?

This is such a subjective thing, and can change between now and whenever you actually relocate due to staff changes, rezoning etc.

And, you can have great teachers in "mediocre" schools, and have mediocre teachers in the "best" schools, and there won't be anything you can do about it.

To help you narrow it down, with the parameters that YOU think are important, you can look at the statistics for all of the schools in the greater Seattle area here:

You can see average class sizes, number of free and reduced lunch students, WASL test scores etc., and can compare schools side by side.

Elementary schools: Kennydale and Sierra Heights. These will feed into McKnight as a middle school and Hazen as a high school when your child reaches that age. Absolutely avoid living in a neighborhood that will eventually feed into Dimmett Middle School and Renton High...ugh!! You can see the maps on the Renton school district's website and then use those to decide where you want to live.

I would recommend the Kent school district over Renton. Its the town just south. I moved to Puyallup for their school district, but that would be quite a commute (although I drive to Seattle Daily). Link below breaks down school information.

Tahoma school district 409, over renton or Kent, Maple Valley (tahoma) is about 8 miles out of renton AWESOME district!

Renton? Yikes. Pretty gross down there! What kind of research have you done of the Puget Sound area that you'd pick Renton? wait - it does have an IKEA - one redeeming factor. But that's about it.

That is the best community into which you should relocate.
