I think Seatle is expensive to live. is it raining all the time? My friends there like it there. I have never been there yet. I am curious what it has to offer compared to other cities.

I live in San Jose and it is mostly an international community, flowing veils, head garb, many languages, etc. I am looking for a city that is more American than international, but is still diverse. It is an earshot within fun nightlife, music, and restaurants, but also quiet clean suburbs. (BTW I am SWM, late 30's, straight. Most of my friends date and marry Asian girls here in San Jose because it is primarily an Asian community. I do prefer the SWF midwestern look).I do not mind clouds and rain - friendliness of the people and good feel for the city is much more important to me than weather. Both cities are always ranked high in quality of life, but it seems Austin is the new kid on the block and Seattle is more of a has been. But Seattle real estate is supposed to be on the rise for many years to come. Please provide suggestions/feedback to help me find a city where I can call home and have a sense of belonging for the long-term.

Me and my family are looking for cities that are near Redmond Washington, we are planning on maybe moving there soon, My husband will be attending DigiPen in Redmond WA, and the cost of housing is much more expensive that way. Any help would be greatly appriciated!!!!!

Why do people only judge Seattle based on the weather are people in the U.S that shallow or simple minded? Its a well know fact that Seattle gets less rain than 90 % of the south, midwest, and east coast and has better air quality and cleaner water than most of "sunny" California cities and Phoenix. Its green for a reason

I was lucky enough to visit Seattle and Tacoma for the first time last year. My family and I are now considering relocating. What is the best area for decent jobs and family living. We have a cat and dog and would be interested in renting a house with some yard space. I'm just not sure where to look...Seattle? Tacoma? Somewhere in between??? Any suggestions or advice from experienced WA residents would be appreciated.
