yup, I went to Mt. Ranier once in '93. I been meaning to go back. I really liked it up there! :P To this day some of the best pics I've ever taken! Still need to get up to St Helens.

Been to both and see Mt. Rainer daily noticing its an hour drive away. Havent been to Mt. St. Helens since the smoke started coming out of it and the new dome was starting but i heard it opened up the visitor center again.

Flew over Mt. St. Helens and I can see Mt. Rainer on clear days. I plan on doing a road trip to both. I just moved to WA in February.

Mt St Helens. It's fascinating, with an excellent exhibit about the eruption.

Camping near Mt. St. Helens is awesome. You can grab a nice site, either jeep camping or hiking/camping near a great supply of freshwater and in very nice wooded areas. My only complaint is that, in the areas I went, it was a little more difficult to find kindling. The extra time to get and keep a fire going were worth it, though.

Yes, and I actually went into the red zone about a year after St. Helen's erupted. It was really odd, all that pumice, it was very very quiet, the trees were sticking about 15 feet out of the pumice, and the trees were big ones, I figure the pumice was at least 50 feet deep.

I've been to Mt Rainier twice. It's lovely, particularly when the wild flowers are in bloom. It's a state park, and there's lodging and campsites available in the park and in the town near its entrance.

I summited Mt. Rainier in August. It was a tough workout, but it was beautiful and exciting. You should try it.

On my way to the rainforest in the sixth grade (with school), we saw it out the window and on the drive home. It is very big and beautiful. We were afraid it was going to erupt!!
