I will be spending the weekend up in Seattle [arriving at Seatac about 1am Friday 9/8], and I want to leave any car dependency behind for the weekend. I am looking for a clean, no frills, quality establishment, with easy access to buslines into downtown [by easy access, I mean within 1/2 mile walk]. I'd also prefer a safer neighborhood. Any solid information is greatly appreciated!

I'm a 20 year old looking for a full-time well paying job, with somewhere reasonable in terms of living to settle and get my life back on track. I'm currently in California.. I'm looking primarily in the West Coast of the United States.. Vegas, Pheonix, Colorado, Oregon, Washington State, Alaska, etc.

While driving East on I-90 out of Seattle I passed a convoy of RIGHT HAND drive army green vehicles. They were being escorted by Washington State Patrol cars at both ends. They were being driven by civilians. These vehicles were also brand new and had long rectangular licence plates - white with black lettering. Why were they going east and where were they going?

No particular reason or prospects there, but I enjoy moving every few years to a different part of the US. I've never been to the Pacific Northwest, and the Chamber of Commerce stuff makes the place sound interesting, but that's not too surprising. I'm a 26 year old student/young professional yearning to make a living in Seattle. I just arrived to Seattle 2 days ago and I choose the International District because it was moderately cheap and had rooms available. So what do you think? Am I going to be mugged in the middle of the night? To be honest with you, it seemed okay to me. It even felt kinda touristy.
