My favorite coffee shop is Monkey Grind on 85th St NW in the Greenwood neighborhood (in the Guinevere building). They serve shade grown coffee (Tony's, my favorite) and the barista there is very careful in preparing the best coffee experience possible for every customer.

Not sure about the beer...I've heard Red Hook Brewery is good. That's in Woodinville though.
