I will be spending the weekend up in Seattle [arriving at Seatac about 1am Friday 9/8], and I want to leave any car dependency behind for the weekend. I am looking for a clean, no frills, quality establishment, with easy access to buslines into downtown [by easy access, I mean within 1/2 mile walk]. I'd also prefer a safer neighborhood. Any solid information is greatly appreciated!

Ahem... Staying in a gaijin house in Sendagaya, near Yoyogi park? Great. Staying in someone's apartment in Seattle? Not great.
Hence, my request for HOTEL information with city bus access.

Ace Hotel in Belltown in downtown Seattle. Not only is it on numerous bus lines, but it is easy walking distance to almost everything since it is centrally located. It is very clean and you can choose to have a private bath or save some money and have a room with a shared bath. It's very cheap, extremely clean and the best value for your money in Seattle.
I have lived in Seattle for 8 years and all my friends stay there when they visit.

I would recommend the Inn at Queen Anne. Their rooms are cheap compared to other downtown hotels and it's in the Lower Queen Anne neighborhood, which is lively, but very safe. You would be within walking distance to the Space Needle and the "Ride Free Zone" for the bus (plus they offer a free downtown shuttle everyday). There are great restaurants in the area as well. Cost is roughly $80-100 a night, depending on when you're in town.

My place. I am less than 30 mins away from the downtown area, and I have a car.
