Whenever I have friends that fly into Seattle this is typically what we do.

1) Space Needle for lunch. It's a bit pricey but the elevator ride is FREE if you have lunch at the top. I also go for the valet parking because it's not much more $$ and it saves a lot of time trying to find a place to park! I think they even give you a few hours. The view is great and it is a perfect way to start your Seattle tour. By the way, when you're done with lunch you can go to the observation deck afterwards. As well, the restaurant rotates. So, you'll see all 360 degrees of Seattle during your lunch. (Dinner is VERY expensive!!)

2) Pike Place Market. Although I never buy anything it's definitely a "must see" when visiting Seattle. Be sure to ask around for the nearest Starbucks. The very first Starbucks is in this same neighborhood.

3) Ferry ride to Bremerton or Bainbridge Island. Actually, I prefer going TO Seattle via ferry vs. leaving Seattle by ferry. But, either way, it is a fun 25 - 35 minute ride across Puget Sound (either by car or on foot). There is upscale shopping near the ferry docks on Bainbridge. You could go across on foot and shop for a while... then return back to Seattle. Crossing on foot is cheaper than by car.

I would highly recommend seeing Pike Place Market, Pioneer Square (the Underground Tour is great), the Waterfront, and Seattle Center (where the Space Needle is). These are the big tourist attractions in Seattle.

I would highly recommend taking a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island. You get great views of the city from the boat and it's a fraction of the cost of an Argosy Cruise.

Some other ideas would be hiking at Discovery Park, going to the Salmon Ladder at the Locks, and walking around Alki...particularly if you like the beach a great sunset.

Seattle is a very chill city, so you'll see alot of locals just kickin' back on a sunny day at any of the parks.

Have a great time!

There are lots of fun things to do in Seattle. It's beautiful here so taking in the scenary on a sunny day is nice. Also the following:
A Bite of Seattle
The Seattle Aquariam
The Woodland Park Zoo
Take in a Mariner's game
Take in a Seahawk's game
Take in a Sonic's game
Visit the Space Needle
Visit Pike Place Market (they're world famous). If you go be sure to check out the fish market where they throw fish to each other.

Ye Olde Curiosity Shop is cool down across from the Pike Place Market. Make sure to watch the Fish Tossers at the Fish Market there. They have a fun show. You can go on a Sail Boat ride for about an hour right down there too. It was awesome!

There is an aquarium right down there too.

At night, in the Seattle Center they have a cool Lazer Show in one of the buildings. A light show cast onto a dome ceiling to music. You can go up the Space Needle and see for miles and miles out on the Observation Deck. The ride up is free IF you eat in the restaurant up there but the meal is very expensive and you do not really get much. But it is the experience mostly. They have artwork up there to look at and purchase also. Down at the base they have a carnival and there is an artist who draws charactures of you in about 3 minutes or so that is neat. Lots of neat shops too.

The space needle is pricey, but worth it. The Pikes Fishmarket is lots of fun but reaks of fish in certain areas. Go to the Chinatown grocery store, it is the coolest grocery store ever! and take a ferry to Whidbey island, it's beautiful there. The rainforest is nice too.
