It's expensive, but only based on how difficult finding work can be. Compared to major cities like New York and San Diego, it is not as expensive. However, you also don't get the same salary on average in Seattle that you do in those places. It's much better to live just outside of Seattle as living in the city can get sort of ridiculous. Still, it's an amazing place with lots to do and has a beautiful backdrop.

Well, while it dosen't rain everday, many days ARE overcast, and you can expect rain in every month of the year, but it never is pouring, more like droplets. As far as stuff to do... can you compare it to LA in stuff to do? NO WAY. But compared to cities in the midwest and southern states, Seattle is way better. Sometimes you may feel suffocated and bored, because Seattle is pushed way off in the Northwest and is overlooked, forgotten, and closed off from the rest off the country. Just visit us to find out, hopefully it won't be overcast because on a clear sunny day Seattle has the bluest skies you ever will see. Very true blue.

I love it there! Lots to do, green everywhere, and a buck fifty will get you onto a bus and out of the city to the mountains. It is expensive, though; it recently made the #1 most expensive city in the US to live in. Just outside the city limits, though, the prices drop dramatically.
There is no parking in Seattle. What little parking there is, is mostly paid parking. Take the city bus. It's excellent and the main routes are 24/7.

It seems like a nice place, but it truly does rain a lot. I've been there 4 times, it was raining constantly 3 of them. The one where there were clear skies I was surprised at what a beautiful place it was. I wouldn't live there though, even SF has more sunshine than they seem to.

If you have money, it is wonderful. Just like most other cities are wonderful when you're rich. If you don't have money, you won't be able to live close to the city and will spend the rest of your life commuting.
But the shore is lovely.

No. There are two many people, it takes you forever to get anywhere on the highways. It rains constantly. And the cost of living is obscene.
Crime is pretty high too.

I absolutely love Seattle.
I'm not rich and I live pretty comfortably.
It doesn't rain as much as you've heard.
It offers intelligent people, beautiful scenery, unlimited recreational opportunities, and the people are pretty cool too :)
