I mentioned to my parents about taking a mini vacation to NYC on a weekend over the summer. What are some of the things to do besides shopping? Such as monuments and landmarks? What are some of the best hotels to stay at and what are some of the best resturants to dine at?

I'm looking for sites that tell me what's in town in NYC to go see and do. NOT the stuff that's always here- there's plenty of sites that stay the same and say "go to the top of empire state building" blah blah.

I mean like commedy clubs and art exhibits and whatever stuff that's only here for a month or whatever. timeoutnyc only features a couple things...

BESIDES places to eat!!

thanks

This year for spring break we were offered to go with our school to NY and DC. While we are there we are going to the Broadway play Wicked. Our teachers said that we have to dress formally. But I was wondering how formal we should dress. Like a long dress? Or something like a skirt and a sweater?

I'm going to be taking a weekend trip with my dad to New York City this December, but our budget is kind of tight. I'm having trouble finding a hotel that is affordable for two nights. Anyone have any ideas?

My wife and I are going to the Music Box Theatre on W. 45th St. near Broadway this summer to see a show. I've not been to The City in YEARS! Can anyone recommend a hotel that's not going to break the bank that has good access to this area? I looked up hotels close to the theater and they're $300 - $400 a night, a bit out of our price range!!!

Help would be much appreciated! If you want to include other sights to see or restaurant recommendations, all the better! THANKS!!!
