The areas of Second and Third Avenues in the 20's and 30's have lots of lively Irish pubs. If one's too crowded or not to your liking, move on the next.

Basically any bar in Manhattan will be packed after the parade, or you can visit any Irish Pub. There are plenty on the Upper East Side (Third and Second Avenues from 70th street up).

There is a famous bar (McSorley's I think) on 6th Street off of the Bowery (what third avenue turns into below Astor Place), but usually there is a line outside the door and down the block (literally!) to enter this place on St. Patty's Day.

Basically, the best bar to go to is one with a lot of fun people and hot women -- of which there are plenty in NYC. Just follow the crowds or ask some girls after the parade!

Connolly's Pub in midtown, hands down. Expect crowds, a cover charge and $7 dollar beers. Check out Murphguide.com. Backed full of irish info. Have fun and try not to drink too much!
