seems confusing but im an 18 dude living in new zeland. i will be going on a trip to new york in september and thinking of a making a fake new zeland driver's license to experience some of new york's great nightlife. i am wondering whether the bouncers will suspect im underage (although im not here at home) and suspect my id is fake .

The NYPD has been cracking hard on fake ID's ever since club related deaths have taken place. Even though 99 percent of the bouncers would NEVER know what a New Zealand Drivers license looks like, they would be looking for certain watermarks embedded in all licenses. If your license doesn't have it, then you won't be getting in.

The law doesn't care what the drinking age is in your home country, it's 21 for everybody in the United States. Fake IDs are illegal, and places in NYC are getting better and better at telling whether or not an ID is real. And if you're a citizen of another country with a fake ID, you could get in serious trouble since they could suspect you of being a terrorist.

They may ask to see your passport, Don't get caught with conflicting ID's at the airport. You will get a one way ticket to Cuba.
