I am from L.A. and we want to take a couple trip to the snow. Is there snow in lake tahoe during december or does it really depend on the rain? Also what is there to do besides ski and any good hotel suggestions. We are not outdoors type people so we need a nice hotel not a cabin! Thanks

Hi! My boyfriend and I love to travel. Unfortunately, we're just college kiddos without lots of money to spare. However, we've got a got of energy and a willing spirit to go wherever the wind takes us! As long as the wind takes us within driving distance, of course. We live in Portland, Oregon, and on occasion (about twice a year), we like to pack up the car and drive! We've had lots of fun in Lincoln City, Seaside, and Newport. We'd be willing to drive as far as Seattle, or even farther if necessary. Does anyone have any suggestions for little locations (up to a 4 hour drive from the city) that's worth going to for the perfect getaway vacation? Any suggestions on hotel/things to do while we're there?

O.k. so I moved from Boston,mass to florida,my husband is still back home. I'm alone with two little kids.I don't know my way around,don't know of any playgroups. My 3year old is bored out of her mind.I try to intertain her by going for walks and playing with her different things. The thing is I don't even know of a playground anywhere! I ask people in the neighborhood but.. know one knows. Is this place that much in the boonies! I live in palm coast. if anyone knows anything please let me know.

Looking for a hotel to stay in New York (preferably Manhattan). I found a decent one, just west of Chinatown, but it says that it is in the Tribeca area. Is this separate from Manhattan? or is it a part of Manhattan?

I'm planning on visiting Chicago in October. I've decided to stay in hotel in the suburbs (Rosemont area) to save money. My question is, is the CTA system in Chicago safe at night (9-10 p.m.)? I'll spend most of my day time in downtown. But I want to attend the Chicago Symphony Ochestra. Is it safe to ride back to the station at night?

I currently live in Illinois, so I know right off the bat that my chances of getting in without being a California resident are decreased. I've always loved California and San Diego particularly and I am really considering going there. I want to major in communications to work in public relations. I have a 3.3 GPA (not the best) but I have taken lots of honors/AP courses and I also do/have done a lot including Orchestra, Cheerleading, FCCLA, FAST, Builders club, Drama club, Girl scouts and more. I am currently a junior so I've been thinking about this stuff a lot lately.

Any advice or thoughts would really be appreciated.
