When you have the money in the bank, Vegas isn't really a seasonal destination. It is about the same all the time.

Generally in the dead of summer is a cheap time to go. Who wants to travel from their home when it is 90 degrees to a place where it is is 115? Going in December and January is also a cheap time to go because people are either visiting with celebrating the holidays with their family or they are paying off their christmas bills at that time.

The most expensive times to go are during the three day weekends, a big convention, and during a big sporting event (boxing match, Super Bowl, NCAA basketball). During spring and last summer can be more expensive because the weather there is nice.

However, despite that rule of thumb I gave, you will still find deals during prime time and high prices during summer and christmas. All it takes is for a few big conventions to take up every room and make prices go skyhigh for a week. As well, if a hotel sees that they are not as full as they had hoped for a week, then they will start to offer great deals. You can sign up for e-mail notices from the resorts to get notified. I have signed up for a lot of e-newsletters and I will usually get a notice every couple of weeks.

If you want a cheap time to go, head on out there after Thanksgiving for a Sunday to Thursday stay. Check the travel websites and a local travel agent to find some good deals. Make sure you find a travel agent that specializes in Vegas deals. They can often get you better deals than the internet (but not always).

I have also found that booking yor trip about 2-3 monhts prior is a good was to save money. That is when hotels will realize when they will be busy or slow.

According to the Travel Channel, the cheapest times to visit Las Vegas are late June thru August (excluding 4th of July weekend) and the two weeks before Christmas.

As far as what days to be there - Sunday to Thursday are cheaper, with the hotels doubling or tripling their prices on Friday and Saturday. (And more so if there's a big event in town)

The most expensive times to travel are March to May, October, and around New Year's Eve.

Ok, those answers are really terrible. Vegas IS seasonal. There are two seasons that are cheapest to travel in: Winter and Summer. Starting about June 1-Sept 1 and through about November 1-March1
:)

Hope that helps. I am a VEGAS EXPERT. LOL I have been soooo many times and I'm going back in Vegas for the Realtor Convention. If you need any advice on the best places to stay/go/do etc, PLEASE ask. The cheapest hotel rates that I've seen were right before Christmas - $99/night for the Venetian. The airfares were also good. The hotel rates are lowest in the winter and then in the heat of the summer.
