United States - January 2007

My husband has been offered a job oppurtunity in Houston Texas and they have asked us to move there for a year. I am seeking advice on nice neighbourhoods to live and good school districts. We have lived in the USA before but it was on the East Coast we are currently living in Ireland. Need to find out information on Houston the pro's and con's, public and private (catholic) school systems, public transport, persume we will need a car, childcare. Require information of these to try and decide weather we should move or not. Thanking you all

A few years ago our local news did a story on a man who was building an Old West Town in Texas where you could spend the night, eat, guns fights.
Does anyone know anything about this place or anything like it in Texas?

We are finally getting to relocate back to the USA after being in Germany for two years. My husband only needs a major airport for his job. I am an actress and want to be within driving distance to LA but not in California as the cost of living is outrageous (though we could afford it if we had to) I have heard Phoenix (mesa) would be a good location for us as I might be able to get jobs in that city also. However Las vegas is aproximately 1.5 Hours closer and I would think there would be opprotunity there too. What is the opinion of people who live in these areas?

I also need to make safety a high priority as I am a young female and I will be by myself for weeks at a time when my husband does have to travel. Thanks so much for your help! Also the more specific you can be about good areas to live in, comparing living costs, etc the better.

I am doing research on the net but still, real life feedback means more to me. I live in northern kentucky, ugh, and am tired of this weather and everything about this area. I am 26, single, and i know i hate cold weather, i do not mind rain, i dont want extreme heat all the time but i definetly know i never want to see my breath when i breathe again. I also am going into stand-up (comedy), so access to some comedy clubs is a must.
