The fastest way to get things going is to find out where the district HQ for your area is and drop it in the mailbox out front. The district office processes mail 24/7 and has trucks going out to other districts and the airport on a regualr basis.

I would suggest the post office as what if the letter carrier doesnt
have any mail for you? then your letter going out would still be there
also if you are sending payments its not a good idea to leave
at your front mail box) people have been known to steal those
letters... and whitewash your checks ....

It's been my experience that their is usually no difference.

For faster mail service, TYPE out the address, use the zip+four and if you are using word to print the envelope, click on the print bar code option.

It doesn't make any difference. If this is in reference to your previous question, mail going to that city won't leave the Oakland Post Office until late afternoon/early evening so it really doesn't matter who gets it to the post office, you or your letter carrier.
