You should be fine. Houston has a huge multi cultural population. I see women wearing them all the time. I used to work at the Galleria and I always saw women wearing them there. Unfortunately Houston has its share of hateful, ignorant types, but no more really than anywhere else - there is always going to be some bad no matter where in the world you go. But for the most part, Houston is a wonderful, ethnically diverse city and you shouldn't haven't any problems at all. If you are new here, Welcome! I hope you enjoy it here. :-)

I have lived in Houston, TX for the last 20 years. I work at a hospital and see several ladies wearing Hijabs everyday. It is not a problem.

Houston is very multicultural. It's probably less segregated than most places in the north east!
Also there is a large immigrant population so the majority of people are very nice, intelligent, open minded and tolerant.

Some of our neighbors wear them, never had a problem. But, as my wife said (Marijane K), Houston is a large, multi-ethnic city. You shouldn't have any problems either.

Yes it is. America is a democratic country.
But at the same time, try to avoid these racist and redneck people, they are uneducated and will discriminate you.
