Just came back from staying in Hollywood for 4days. It's dirty and the streets need repair and too much traffic everywhere. Why would anybody want to live there? I prefer the SF Bay Area!!!!!

Is it best if we travel before/after december 26? Are hotels a problem at this time of the year? We are planning to stay until jan 3, 2007.

Any ideas how late the metro has run on New Year's eve in previous years- do they have special hours? This year New Year's eve is a Sunday and I don't want my friends and I trapped in DC because it's on the normal Sunday schedule (closes at midnight).

Next month, my husband and I are visiting family in Friendswood, near Houston. We want to experience some real Texas scenery and/or even just an authentic restuarant. Any ideas of where to go during our drive to San Antonio, or even while we're in San Antonio? Last time we went there, we were taken out to Ruth's Chris Steak house, a real disappointment since we were visiting a state we'd never been to.

We're not planning on going to expensive restaurants. We'll probably only go to The Hard Rock Cafe once. I just don't know what to expect to spend per meal.

There is always construction, it is the biggest eyesore and I cant see how everyone is just so damn happy to live there. Everyone says that Texas is the same. That is crap. Texas is absolutely beautiful more so than Chicago. LA is the same but New york is beautiful. I think the people are a lil different in Chicago as well. Yes I should know, I unfortunately lived there. Glad to be back home in Texas.

I think the best and most beautiful place to live in Texas is probably Plano. It is a fast growing city with alot of extras and is last on the list of crime.
