You can have your birth certificate in hand in 7-10 days. Alteratly, check the health website for the state you were born in and work directly through them. I just did this and it was only $15 and I had my cert within a week. With these, you don't have to send anything to them. All done online.

U may need to call the hospital where u were born or go to the courthouse to get a copy. U will have to fax over some id and maybe social just so they can verify it is u and most states charge $11.00 for them to make another copy not original for u and then u will have to send that money and stamp and envelope for them to send it to u. If u r just needing a copy they can fax it to u

find out if there is an online way to order or get the needed forms.

I had to get my Washington, DC birth certificate and was able to find all the forms I needed online. I filled them out, sent a copy of my current drivers license and a check and they mailed the certificate to me!

You need to call the county health and statistics department. They will work with you. Hopefully, you will get a human voice who can speed up the process. I had to call NYC for mine. That is a BIG city and I was told 4-6 weeks...

A month is plenty of time to get it through regular channels. However, you can call them when you make the request see if they also have an overnight service that they can use.
