I'm not sure if I got ripped off or not. I purchased a vacation package for $250 with the knowledge that I would be obligated to listed to a time share "orientation". The vacation is for 5 nights Orlando, 2 nights Daytona and a 2 night Cruise to the Bahamas. Has anyone been on one of these vacations? Are they for real? I sure hope so!

to just dismiss the city as a possible tourist destination/point of interest for visitors? Yes, the city has lots of problems (urban decay, gangs, drugs, violent crime, etc), but so does every other large city- NY, LA, Chi-town, Miami, the Big Easy, Hotlanta, etc.- and noone thinks twice about these places being popular tourist destinations. I can argue Detroit (especially if I add its' suburbs) has as much to offer tourists as almost any of these other places (museums, clubs, bars, restaurants, sports, performing arts, the zoo, constant festivals and cultural events, etc). Why do so many people- especially suburbanites- automatically have nothing positive to say about Detroit to others; these same people argue the city has nothing going for it (when it actually has a lot to offer)and yet continue to sabotage Detroit (and the whole metro-Detroit area for that matter) with their criticism from becoming/redeveloping into that major city/metro area that they would like it to be(come) ?

I am looking for the best city to raise 3 little boys up (5,3,1). My husband and I currently live in Orlando, FL and I love this city but cost of living here is extremely expensive for a young family trying to make it. I am looking for something that offers good jobs with good pay, great schools, affordable homes and good universities (since I want to go back to school). I heard good things about Texas but am not too familiar with the cities and what they offer. We are a young hispanic family in search of a good future for a family.

I'm going to NYC next month and I'm trying to find out were I can find some totally chic (and yet cheap and afordable) shops for clothes and accesories. I LOVE to shop, so if there is a particular area that has lots of shops like this on a certain street that you know of, that would be great! (I've heard chinatown is good, what do you all think?)

Hi there,

I'm going to meet a friend is the Baja CA area this weekend and I need help planning travel from the El Monte area (there is a Metro station and major Bus station in El Monte) down to the San Diego/Mexico (Tijuana) border. I want to travel by rail most of the way and hopefully transfer to local area (SD) trolley/bus-lines. Can anyone help me plan this trip fairly quickly or point me in the right direction? Thanks for your help.

I think Las Vegas is the world's biggest rip-off for the following reasons:
1.) Everything is cleverly disguised to take your money, and lots
of it. The casinos themselves are giant hoover vacuums
for the sole purpose of seperating you from your money. Only
seniors, and mind-numbed seniors at that, could possibly find
1000's of slots ringing in the Key of C at the same time entertaining.
2.) The shows are way overpriced. Get real! $100 a ticket is
normal now everywhere. Sigfried and Roy were the first to
charge$100, now everything's $100+.
3.)The food is way overpriced. Didn't it seem like yesterday
when food specials(SURF AND TURF $7.99) were everywhere?
Now you have to be rich as emeril to buy a burger!
4.) Every major resort is essentially a giant shopping mall,.
disguised as a theme(forum shops, venetian, wynn's, NYNY,
etc.), with a thrill ride attached. You can get the same visceral
thrill by walking around the Mall of America
5.)Airport slots,to suck whats left

What about from North Bergen to La Guardia Airport?

I am looking to move to upstate CT. I am flexible on where I move to, have transportation, no children, and single. My only requirements are affordable housing ( no more than $600 per month) and access to job opportunities. My main employment has been in retail and some EKG work, but I am looking to take classes to obtain a career. What are the best places for me to check into?
