I am looking to move to upstate CT. I am flexible on where I move to, have transportation, no children, and single. My only requirements are affordable housing ( no more than $600 per month) and access to job opportunities. My main employment has been in retail and some EKG work, but I am looking to take classes to obtain a career. What are the best places for me to check into?

I live in CT and ive lived in fairfield county and ive been living in newhaven county for like 4 years now on my own. the rents
are def. cheaper in new haven county. for 600/month, youre
pretty limited, Ct. is an expensive state, decent places start at
700 and up, however, New Haven the "city" of new haven county
is youre best bet. check out craigs list, and look in new haven
and west haven,ct there are some rents being offerered for 600
but the apt would be vey small, however these both cities will
allow you access to 1-95, the main highway in ct, and the merrit
parkway. there are lots to do there, xpecially in new haven. thats
where yale is located and there are TONS of places to eat, drink
the nightlife is great, and the people are very cool there. you
get a mix of the urban/hippie/yuppie/student crowds. there are
tons of bars and clubs where you can see bands play for pretty
reasonable. new havens great, i love it. I live in hamden, another
city wich is the next town up, hamden is great too, a little less
city-ish, but also tons to do. where I live, i have a 1 bed 1 bath for
800/month, thats pretty much what youre going to spend, but the
complex i live at has a pool and a gym there, so i think its worth it.
you'll really like west/new haven or hamden, branford is nice too
however, the rentals are a little inflated. stay awau from waterbury. there are some "undesiriable" areas to it, however
the rent may be cheap there

Newington area. Although, $600 per month is VERY hard to find in Central Connecticut. Maybe in Bloomfield.

There are factors that are ok..a pal of mine in simple terms bought a co-op close to the water in Bridgeport however the shuttle may be longer because of the fact of site visitors. i might try Norwalk..it is low value then Stamford and closer (it is in simple terms the subsequent city over) site visitors on ninety 5 and the Merritt is incredibly heavy for the time of rush hour because of the fact alot of folk shuttle from community cities to Stamford. Seymour, as stated is farther then half-hour.
