(I've written it how it is pronounced ~ 'toe' then an 'ee' sound). Does it have any 'sexual' connotation? Would you be angry if someone said this about you (a man saying it about a woman?).

Or feel it was derogatory or negative?

My son lives in Australia with his wife; They both have dual citizenship (US/Australia) and have separated (to be divorced). She is about to inherit $$ from the US.

1) Is that considered community property in Australia? (EG would my son be entitled to any part of this inheritance?)

2) Could his wife fly to the US, collect her inheritance under California law (which is her sole and separate property), then fly back to Australia, get divorced, and keep the inheritance as sole property?

3) her brother is the executor of their parents estate in the U.S. could he and her stall the collection of her inheritance until after her divorce as a device of keeping it all to herself?

Hi,

I'm travelling to New York from Australia in early December of this year and I'm planning to take my mobile phone with me so I can use it over there. I've got a Nokia 6230 and it's on prepaid otherwise known as "pay as you go".

So I was wondering if anyone knows if I can take my phone to USA or not? Because I've used it in the UK and France where I've taken my simcard out and bought a card in that country and used their mobile number which I bought from a phone shop. And it works in the UK and France when I bought a UK mobile number.

So just wondering if my phone will work in New York or not?

Hello there, I'm from Brazil, I would like to travel too Austrailia for a week.

There seems to be a rise of racism in western nations. Just recently a girl from south America was assaulted for visiting a friend in Europe.

And I remember reading about a racist mob attacking foreigners in Sydney a couple of years back.

So is it safe? I appologize but I'v only been to other latin American countries and the United States.

For those savvy on the Election 07, you'll know what I'm referring to - the liberal volunteers handing out fake "how to vote cards" appealing to Anti-Muslim sentiment. MP Jackie Kelly has likened it to a Chaser style prank and as a Chaser fan, I find that outright insulting to the Chasers.

Link: http://au.news.yahoo.com/071121/2/1518t.html

The Chasers mock politics in general but in a way which has no serious consequnces (minus the APEC stunt but it only got themselves into a legal mess.)

Handing out fake How to Vote cards however, is the political equivalent to defamation and should be criminalised. Anyone who thinks this was fun is nuts.

Your thoughts?

Ok, I'm planning to go to Sydney and maybe Melbourne also next summer. Starting now, besides the cost of the trip, how much should I save up to be able to afford a moderately nice trip? I'm not looking to spend a fortune everyday I'm there. I was thinking of saving a $100 a month for the trip. What do you think? And, there are tons of books available on the subject of visiting Australia. Which is the best? Or is there a website that would be more informative, more accurate, or up to date? I want my trip to be enjoyable and worth every penny. I'd also like to know some cool gay-friendly places there as well. Thanks for your responses.

Hi,

I wanted to buy a laptop in Australia. However as we are approaching Christmas I think buying one after Christmas is more logical as that is when the sales period begins. Just wondering whether I would be better off waiting until after Christmas to buy my new laptop or will there be no difference in price if I buy now. Would you buy your new laptop now or wait until after Christmas? How much % could I save if I wait until after Christmas?

It's a New Zealand coin. It says Elizabeth II New Zealand 1988 on the front. On the back it says, 50 Endeavour.

Are travellers cheques accepted as currency in Australia like they are in the US? Or do you have to change them into cash (of course, I do mean Australian Dollar Travellers Cheques)?

I'm sitting in an internet cafe as i write this. I'm currently ok as i have £400 in my purse which i stole from my abusive ex-father (i itend to divorce my parents if that's possible) now wondering what to do. After a particularly abusive episode i stole my father's credit card, booked a flight to australia, and here i am. I've long intended to go live in australia; i've just gone about it the wrong way! I've binned my passport because i refuse to go back; it's probably on it's way to a distant rubbish dump by now. The only ID i have (being only 16) is my birth certificate, which i'm keeping hidden. At the moment i'm staying in a hotel but will soon be moving onto the streets because i want to save money; weather is glorious. But what the hell do i do now? I need to go to school! I have nowhere to live. How can i convince some official to let me stay? Desperately want education, but would rather be a street bum than put in some vile british care home. Help? Thanks!

Hi, I wish to get some kind of experience about people that are living in Canada and Australia and why they made that kind of choice, cost of living, in what of those countries you can get a better chance to find a better position for professional people, health system and costs, and any advice that you can suggest is welcome.
