Spirit of Tasmania. This cruise tour operates from Melbourne to Tasmania almost everyday. Its a great experience. Check out their website for more http://www.spiritoftasmania.com.au.

Apart from this there are many other cruis tours available in Australia.

I remember one of my friends went to a 3 weeks long cruise tour withing Australia and visited most of the coastal cities and towns like Melbourne, Sydney, Townsville, Port Douglas and more.

If you are talking about cruises in a boat or a ship, there are not a lot. There are cruises on the River Murray in paddle steamers from places like Renmark, Mildura or Echuca which can be a day or a few days. There are many day trips in most coastal towns to go fishing or diving or to visit offshore islands. There is a lot of whale watching going on - right whales in the Bight, humpbacks along the east and west coasts and blue whales off southern South Australia. There are river cruises in the Northern Territory to spot crocodiles and other wildlife and this type of cruise can be found in different parts of the country.

But that's it. We don't have cruise liners sailing from port to port although there are visiting cruises every year that you can join for a leg or two.
