What are the bad and good areas in Canberra taking into account the level of education, crime and other factors that affect the area. I'm curious because I might be moving there next year and don't want to live somewhere bad.

1) Cheap but decent and comfortable accommodation, approx $100/nite around city area? even homestay is ok...

2) Cheap car rental that rents to provisionals under 25, above 23yo?

I'm goings down to Canberra with a few friends in spring (for the first time in years).

Last time we did a coach tour with my classmates & we went past a few embassies near parliament house. Thats when i took 2 photos of the American & PNG embassy.

I was wondering is to okay to take photos of Canberra embassies or do i have to ask security or staff before hand

My wife has been offered a job in Australi. However, she has lupis and her bloodwork would not be covered by private insurance. Does anyone have any idea what a doctor's visit costs if insurance covers 0% of her visit. She really wants to move to Canberra, but until this question is answered we cannot determine if it is within our budget. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

First the Don Imus case,because he called a team of girls hoes and he was fired people,said its because of hip hop music,pop and rock music called people hoes and bitches too.Now the Cho Seung case i go on youtube and there is some idiot pointin a finger at 50 cent,like hip hop is the worste force in the world
if life was always good hip hop would be always good because its a reflection but if u hold a teddy bear in your hand and look in a mirror u cant exspect to see a living cat.I get pissed reading stuff like that.Dont get me wrong i blame no music form because therefore i would have to blame all the violent videos games and movies which 95% of the world enjoys,including myself.i just think the media is trying to murder hip hop because it is where black men and women make somethin out of themselves,and some white ppl who understand the life also,I just want your opinions on this matter

from the sea?. It seems a very sensible place to put a capital city, and a much easier place to defend than other cities in Australia.

In the next month or so we are hoping to move from Perth to Canberra and will need temporary accommodation for the two of us for several days when we first arrive.
Any suggestions or ideas for an economical self-contained, flat or apartment that we could stay in while searching for a rental? We hope to have one of our cars waiting for us when we arrive so transport will not be an issue.

Anyone have a campground they particularly liked in Canberra? I'm looking for one that has clean camp kitchen, shower facilities and the ability to set up a tent. I've heard of the Exhibition park but am concerned it might be a little noisy.
