I'm planning on going to Thailand in April, for two weeks and then going to Cairns for a two week trip down the gold coast, ending in Sydney with the intention of working there for a year.

The flights at the moment are around £700, but I've been advised that if I wait until January they will go down and there will be sales as I'm landing in Aussie winter-time so not as many people want to fly there at that time.

Is there any truth in this or shoudl I just book my flights now?

To all those people who lived in both cities. I know Melbourne is a bigger city but still I needed to know, how is the living standard & facilities in Wollongong compared to Melbourne.

I've an option to move to Wollongong for work purpose for a while. The key factors I'm considering are, house rent, availability of public transport, transport fare, weather, people, super markets & general cost of living.

I have a small piece of red rock from the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. My rock is from the park, but not Uluru itself. I've read that taking rocks from Uluru/Ayers Rock is bad luck, but does the park in general (not actually at Uluru) count as well?
If so, how can I send back my piece of rock.
