I have a small piece of red rock from the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. My rock is from the park, but not Uluru itself. I've read that taking rocks from Uluru/Ayers Rock is bad luck, but does the park in general (not actually at Uluru) count as well?
If so, how can I send back my piece of rock.

To those who responded: I am a big fan of Australia, and Uluru was one of the most amazing places I've ever visited. Although the bad luck is a factor in wanting to send it back, I am not selfish and I also care about Australia, especially the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Therefore, I will send the rock back. At the time I was younger, and I had thought that since it wasn't directly from Uluru it wasn't so bad. Now I know the truth and appreciate that. Thanks for your responses.

Most senders complain of bad luck or mysterious misfortune after illegally removing the rocks from ANY sacred Aboriginal site or land especially Uluru.

Park rangers and traditional custodians hold ceremonies to put the rocks back every few years people send back - it is that important to them!

Mail any rocks you took back to:
Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park, PO Box 119
Yulara Northern Territory 0872 Australia

It is illegal to remove anything from a National Park. There is plenty of red rock in Australia without having to steal it from National Parks. Send it back.

I would have left the rock where it was...not taken it!
Sorry but i believe in seeing nature in its natural environment and not taken to be put on someones shelf!

Also you are only wanting to send it back for the bad luck reasons. What about the fact that you took it and should not have done?

Am with bear on this.

I would take K Bear advice.

I am surprised that you had the audacity to take it in the first place but admire you have to guts to admit it and now try to do the right thing.

Cheers
