Me and my son are going to Australia next year to visit some relatives for three weeks. What type of a visa do we need? And can we get it online?

you fail to say what country you are from
some countries are eligible to get an electronic visa online some are not

you don't need to get a visa, as long as you and your son are British passport holders you will receive a visa on entry. you simply fly in and at the airport you get a 3 month tourist visa. As long as your not planning on working thats all you need.

You will require a tourist visa or a visitor visa....and you cannot get it online...because you will have to submit the required documents. I hope this helps you. Cheers ! Have a great holiday.

Australian visitors visa and yes it is available on-line, at least it was in 2004 when I visited. Enjoy your trip !!!
You could go through www.visabureau.com or www.eta-visas.co.uk, however if you have booked through a travel agent, they should be able to advise you !!

the place i get my partners visa from everytime is Flight Centre, you don't need to have booked your flight through them. you can get electronic visas or go to governement websites but i find this the easiest option!
